Amnesty International @ Los Amigos High School

All right everyone, we will be getting club shirts for Amnesty International and we’d like to invite you guys to create a design for the t-shirt. Be creative and bring your idea to the meeting this Friday with your design being hand drawn, on the computer through photoshop, etc. or however! We will be ordering club t-shirts soon so don’t delay on your designs!

ALA Photography Contest
Who: Any Students
What: Capture a thought provoking image that depicts an injustice or issue that needs to be changed in society. Please include a quote that reflects the theme of the image. The quote may be embedded in the picture.

Where: Our Community
When: Submissions due Thursday March 14th.

The winner of the contest will have his or her photography used as an awareness/promotional poster that will be posted all over campus and featured on the Los Amigos journalism site Read Against the Machine.

As a founding members of the club, on Thursday, Feb. 28th, Van Ky Nguyen and Steve Ngo felt that it was best that they leave ALAHS. Before resigning, Ngo stated, “I have reasons for doing it as I see that the club isn’t in my best interest.” Thanks for all your help Van Ky and Steve and we wish you the best of luck in the future.

With the loss of Van Ky, however, ALAHS would like to introduce junior Peterson Pham as our newest addition as Treasurer. Since ALAHS has decided to remain fairly independent of the official AI organization, we will not be in need of a new Network and Campaign Coordinator.
